Description
Martha is the eldest of 14 siblings whose both parents were farmers. She was sent several times to school over several years
but she always ended up dropping out and never got to complete the first grade, so they decided she would stay at home to help them
with the farm and house duties. Since a very young Martha always had an interest in commerce so she learned to prepare candies,
lollipops, other traditional sweets and also about sewing and bakery.
In 1987 she bought her first plot of land in San Sebastián, encouraged by a producer friend of hers and since then, Martha acquired
more lands little by little and focused on producing coffee for a living. As time has passed by, Martha has improve
the processes throughout the years by building concrete patios and a covered raised bed to dry coffee.
In December 2020, Martha acquired an ecological wet mill to process her coffee. This allows her to de-pulp and to wash the coffee all at once, saving a lot a time and most important, water. This change reaffirms Martha’s efforts with quality and the protection
of the environment she has been committed to.
