Description
If you remember one thing about Honduras, we would like you to remember Celaque. It is one of the most interesting and least known regions in Honduras, a remote corner of the country, one of the poorest and least developed. It has a dramatic landscape with very high mountains and few small valleys, a rugged and underdeveloped infrastructure. Surely there are easier places to source coffee because access is difficult, but the quality potential is great and we are there working with small producers helping them improve their outcomes. This is where the Las Nubes Blend comes from, it is a high quality blend that is produced by the farmers in this region, the farms here follow rainforest alliance and organic practises. The climate is fairly dry allowing for patio drying throughout the drying process, something not common in Honduras.
Tasting apple, brown sugar and caramel, coffees range from very good to amazing. Celaque means “box of waters” in the Lenca dialect.
It is Honduras ́ highest peak, at 2,849 meters (9347ft), at the Celaque Mountain National Park.
It is on the westernmost corner of Honduras bordering Guatemala and El Salvador within the departments of Lempira, Ocotepeque and Copan on the Sierra Celaque mountain range.
